Case Notes
Track the events important to each case
Each case in the LawBase system can have an unlimited number of related case notes. Notes can be entered by any assigned individuals within your organization, and can be categorized according to your business practices. Notes can be created by dragging messages from Microsoft Outlook into the case file.
If you have ever had a client call with an important question you couldn't answer without tracking down the case file, you could have used LawBase. Every practicing attorney is faced with the challenge of maintaining a significantly large case load while at the same time giving each case a sufficient amount of attention. Sifting through the correspondence folder to find out who spoke to the opposing counsel last, or to accurately identify which party is on the phone, can be inefficient and embarrassing.
LawBase provides an area in each case (or contact) to keep track of just this kind of useful information.
The Notes area for each case or contact in your LawBase database is easily accessible through one of the function tabs on the bottom of each record. A quick click shows you the daily progression of your case. Use the notes area to track everything of importance to your firm: letters sent and received, phone calls, meetings, emails, faxes. The notes list is easily organized according to each user's preference and is unlimited in length. Organize columns however you want to see them, then order the entries by date, note type, entered-by, etc.
Each note entry is stamped with a date, time entered, by whom, and note type. Your firm creates its own note types and decides what events should be logged.
Individual note entries are Rich Text Formatted, allowing your LawBase users to include bold format, underlining, colors, even bullets.
In addition, each entry can contain a link to any file on your system, so if a note makes reference to an Excel Worksheet, now you can link it directly to the note. You can utilize this kind of object linking with any file your computer can create, edit, or view, including images, word processor documents, web pages, or even other databases. With LawBase you can see all your information from one easy-to-use interface.
