LawBase is a Matter Management system designed to increase the productivity of your office. LawBase is currently being used by thousands of law office personnel across the country and internationally. Users include small, medium and large law firms; corporate legal departments; and governmental agencies.

LawBase is able to serve the needs of each of these different types of users by providing a fully adaptable system that "thinks the way that you do." This allows your office to use your own vocabulary, organization and presentation style.

• SmartFolders™ – A unique method of automatically grouping files and matters in any manner you desire. You can create smart folders to track cases by attorney, by subject or by any other information in your system. This means that files can quickly be located without ever touching the keyboard.



• Case Notes – Provides a quick and easy way to track the activity on a file by allowing for an unlimited amount of free form text to be entered.



• Contacts – Like the matter files, contacts are an completely customizable electronic address book. Contacts can easily be linked to matters meaning that contacts are only entered once and updated in a single location but can be accessed from any file in which they are involved.



• Docketing – LawBase allows you to track all appointments and tasks within LawBase. They can be viewed either in the matter file or from a calendar view for either an individual or a group of users. Finally, this information can easily be interfaced with your calendar applications such as Outlook, Groupwise or the Lotus Notes calendar.



• Document Assembly – LawBase comes bundled with HotDocs allowing you to intelligently produce personalized documents with a few keystrokes. LawBase’s integration with Hot Docs allows for the automatic creation of notes and tasks each time a document is produced.



• Conflicts – LawBase allows you to easily perform conflict checks. In fact, you can set up multiple types of conflict checks to meet all of your needs. For example, you could set up conflicts checks for ethical conflict searches, “business” conflicts, and name searches to find a name anywhere it exists in the database.



• Workflow – LawBase has an easy workflow tool that allows the system to automatically perform multiple steps in a single process. In this way, changing a single field could automatically generate an email; produce a document; change other fields in the file; create a note or add tasks to your calendar.
